Brendan Mahon
Managing Director
Having joined the company in 1992 Brendan has gained vast industry experience through working in various roles across the company. As Contracts Manager he was responsible for managing large infrastructure contracts from tender stage right through to product handover, Brendan’s hands-on experience and strong background in value engineering drives him to ensure that our team provides our clients with the most efficient precast solutions. Brendan holds a degree in Civil Engineering and he took up the role of Managing Director in 2011 – focusing on developing strong sustainable growth for the company, through innovation and close collaboration with our clients.

Eamonn Shortall
Contracts Director
Eamonn joined Banagher Precast Concrete in 2008 and became a company owner director in 2010 with responsibility for new contracts and client relationship management. Eamonn holds an honours degree in Civil Engineering and is highly experienced in precast concrete, his role is to work in partnership with Contractors & Consulting Engineers to deliver highest quality precast products in a quick, safe and economically viable manner. Eamonn specialises in working collaboratively with design teams & clients to deliver value engineering on largescale projects. Eamonn’s expertise lies in civil projects including bridges, airports, rail, encapsulations, as well as the energy & marine sectors across Ireland and the UK.
Peter Deegan
Technical Director
Peter has been with the company for 30 years and became one of the owner directors in 2004, Peter has worked in the areas of Quality, Environmental, Project Management, HR and Production Management. An avid researcher, Peter has published many articles and papers relating to all facets of concrete technology and he currently spear heads the innovative R&D department in Banagher. He has participated in European led research at FP7 and most recently on a Horizon 2020 projects developing ultra-high durability concrete. His PhD thesis explores concrete aesthetic and durability, his notable expertise in the area is something which gives the company a distinct advantage. Peter divides his time between the plant in Ireland and heading up the UK operation in Norfolk.

Eamon Stack
Chief Engineer
Eamon joined the company in 1981 having obtained his degree in Civil Engineering from NUIG. Working initially on prestressed bridge beams and portal frame type building systems he expanded the company’s range of products by moving into box culverts, precast arches and portals along with marine systems. Eamon has been instrumental in ensuring the success of Banagher Precast Concrete with his innovative precast solutions – in 2005 Eamon developed the now industry standard and widely used ‘W Beam’ which spans up to 50 metres. In 2007 he developed the shorter spanning ‘MY Beam’ – a more efficient environmentally friendly beam which uses less concrete and is ideal for rapid construction, his beams have proven to be an integral part of the UK and Irelands road and rail landscape. Eamon is an industry respected bridge beam expert who excels when challenged, he is also one of the leading technical contributors to the Concrete Bridge Development Group.
Michael Slevin
Senior Structural Engineer
Michael joined Banagher Precast Concrete in 2006 as a Quality Control Engineer. Michael holds an honours degree in Civil Engineering & moved to the design office in 2007 to work as a Structural Engineer on largescale Stadia projects Thomond Park & Aviva Stadium. In 2008 he moved into the Civil side of the company designing Box Culverts, Portal Frames, Arches and U-on-U’s. Michael developed the Banagher Precast Concrete Portal Frame which is now commonly used on large scale Civil Engineering projects. Michael authored the company’s Bridge Beam Design Manual & compiled the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Editions of the company’s Bridge Beam Manuals. Michael specialises in designing prestressed bridge beams and carrying out bridge deck analysis. He has presented to the Concrete Bridge Development Group and Engineers Ireland along with numerous colleges over the past four years.

John Kenna
Senior Structural Engineer
John joined Banagher Precast Concrete in 2006 and currently leads the structural design team, primarily working on large scale multi-level precast concrete structures in the Irish & UK markets. He holds an honour degree in Civil Structural & Environmental Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, and a Masters Degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Surrey which included original research examining ‘The Influence of Short Fibre Additions on the Pullout Behaviour of Reinforced Concrete’. He worked as senior design engineer and project manager on numerous largescale projects in both Ireland and in the UK including the Pairc Ui Chaoimh Stadium Redevelopment, Glanbia Project Purple, the Olympic Handball Arena in London and the redevelopment of the Curragh Racecourse Grandstand. John was elected as a Chartered Engineer by the Irish Engineering Institution in 2011.
Barry Murphy
Contracts Manager
Barry joined Banagher Precast Concrete in 2011 and works closely with the commercial team on large-scale project proposals and contracts. Barry has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and prior to joining the company, worked in the construction sector for over 10 years gaining extensive experience on major projects. Barry has worked on numerous largescale projects in both Ireland and in the UK including Crossrail, London Gateway, Pairc Ui Chaoimh Stadium, Pont Briwet, and Eastern Bay. Barry leads the contract management process, contract negotiations, document management and ensures cost efficient solutions for clients through close collaboration throughout the design, bidding and delivery stages of projects.

Cathal Nash
Contracts Manager
Cathal holds a degree in Civil Engineering and has been a Contracts Manager with Banagher Precast Concrete since 2014. His strength in client collaboration from tender stage ensures that value engineering and innovative proposals are intrinsic to our proposals. Cathal ensures that project programmes are adhered to and that our products are delivered on time and on budget for our clients.
Caroline Cavanagh
Marketing Manager
Caroline joined the team in 2017 after heading up the marketing department in Chanelle Pharmaceuticals for over 12 years, Chanelle is the largest indigenous generic pharmaceutical manufacturer in Ireland today. Prior to this she worked in one of Ireland’s top advertising and below the line marketing agencies (BBDO). Caroline holds a degree in Business Studies and has over 16 years first hand marketing experience, her role in Banagher Precast Concrete is to develop & implement marketing strategies to increase our market share, to bring our core values and highly innovative best in class products to existing & potential clients.

Brian Grogan
Senior Estimator
Brian holds an Honours Degree in Business Studies and is a qualified Quantity Surveyor who left an international concrete company to join the Banagher Precast Concrete team in 2012. Brian has invaluable experience in value engineering and his knowledge of precast ensures that our clients receive optimum costings at all times. As Senior Estimator he heads up our highly skilled team ensuring that estimates of our best in class products are thorough and accurate. Brian and his team take into consideration all variables from raw materials to crane requirements on site, they seek innovations in precast and are experts in largescale projects and bespoke precast.
Michael Byrne
Estimator
Michael joined Banagher Precast Concrete in 2018. Michael has a degree in Quantity Surveying and has approximately 6 years commercial experience gained from working with Tier 1 Contractors on Civil Engineering projects in both the Irish and Australian Markets. Michael’s experience ranges from the construction of water treatment plants with precast elements to rail construction and refurbishment projects. Michael is part of the highly experienced and intuitive estimating team who ensure viable and cost effective solutions for our clients.

Michael joined Banagher Precast Concrete in 2018. Michael has a degree in Quantity Surveying and has approximately 6 years commercial experience gained from working with Tier 1 Contractors on Civil Engineering projects in both the Irish and Australian Markets. Brendan O’Meara
Assistant Production Manager
Brendan joined Banagher Precast Concrete in 2004, initially working in the Concrete Laboratory and Quality Department. He has 14 years experience in the Precast industry and is a qualified civil engineer and also recently completed a Masters Degree at Queens University Belfast in Advanced Concrete Technology. Brendan worked in the role of the companies Quality Manager from 2008 to 2014 overseeing all quality related activities and then moved into his current role of Assistant Production Manager. Brendan is responsible for production programming and co-ordinating production processes in the manufacturing plant.
Sean Burke
Quality Manager
Sean joined in 2015 as a Quality Assurance Engineer, he holds degree in Construction Management and is currently studying for a Masters in Concrete Technology through the University of Leeds. Sean is responsible for the company’s quality systems ensuring that our products comply with the highest standards and legal obligations of our industry. Jamie Barrett
Health & Safety Manager
Jamie joined in 2017 having previously worked for 15 years in Lisheen Mine, Co. Tipperary & with Roadstone (CRH) as a Safety Officer with responsibility for 12 Quarries nationwide. He has extensive experience in the Mining & Quarrying Industry through his various roles in Surveying, Mine Planning, Long Hole Drill & Blast Design, Mine Ventilation & through his role as a Safety Officer. Jamie is responsible for all matters of Safety on our quarry and manufacturing sites, with focus on improving personal development of operators & increasing their hazard awareness at all times.
