Forth Crossing
The contract for the main crossing of the Firth of Forth was awarded to FCBC and construction started in late 2011. The new bridge is critical to maintaining the vital cross-Forth connection in the Scottish transport network. Work is currently well underway and the job is on target for completion in 2016.
As work progresses on the foundations for the main bridge crossing, Banagher Precast Concrete were delighted to be delivering the first of a number of bridges for the approach works. Banagher Precast Concrete was awarded the contract by FCBC to supply Prestressed Concrete Bridge Beams for five structures in all.
The first of these Bridge Beams to be delivered to the Forth Crossing site were for Structure FT05. The Beams are Prestressed Y2 and YE2 beams and span over the rail line.
