Middlegreen Road Bridge

Banagher Precast Concrete has recently been awarded the contract for the supply of Precast Concrete Portal Frames, Red Brick Faced Parapet Panels, Facia Panels and Cill Beams for the Middlegreen Road Bridge Reconstruction. The Main Contract was won by Hochtief UK and is a major part of the Crossrail venture along with the Client Network Rail.

The Crossrail route will pass through 37 stations and run 118 km from Maidenhead and Heathrow in the west, through new twin-bore 21 km tunnels below central London to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east.

The Scheme consists of a triple cell opening with 10nr portal frames, varying in span from 6.1m to 9.25m. There are 8nr associated red brick parapet panels and facia panels along with 14nr approach parapets. The scheme was designed and drawn as a conarch system but we proposed our portal frame system which was accepted by Hochtief, Hyder and Network Rail as a more efficient solution. Production commenced in January 2013 and was installed over the Easter weekend.
